A lyric I wrote 2 years ago and I always felt that it should have a Paul Rodgers sound like the songs "Bad Company" or "Laying down the law"

A Paul Rodgers kind of grove

Standing afraid in the shadows
With an empty sky above
The sins faded away when the rain came down
But still we are standing here
Waiting for the answer
For the answer may come
But still what's the point
It can't be undone

We are broken saviours
Local talent punks who've lost their way
We are defeated heroes
A crash and burn trough heavens gate

Going through all these years
When we where the biggest that ever came close
We had visions that went across the border
We started to take all these little short cuts
And suddenly everything was out of order
It became everything that ain't us
Everything we used to hate
We ran out of all the sweetness
And that day we lost our faith

We are broken saviours
Local talent punks who've lost their way
We are defeated heroes
A crash and burn trough heavens gate

If I didn't know he could spell, I would think this was a song a lover told me he had written about me, two years ago. Thanks for sharing, it is a great song. No offence re the spelling, it was just the 'thought' word. I love it. Tai
