If only.........think of someone you lost because of things you omitted to do or say to that person.
When I thought love had steered our ship to destiny
We had smiles and laughter for breakfast;
Cuddled and kissed for lunch;
And we shared passion and romance for dinner
Life was worth living for back then
If only I had seized that moment
I stepped on your toes a multiple number of times
And I still recall all the lies;
All the excuses I used to neglect you
You always had a room to forgive my mischief
At times of darkness and tears you stood tall
But I kept pushing you away
If only I had known, I would have treated you better
The first cut is the deepest
I realized that after destroying all that we spent time and effort molding
The seeds we sown borne no fruit
All because of my aloofness and conceit
I went all the way to feed my appetite and forgot about you
If only I had shared it with you
I tried to buy you out
A bunch of roses and dinner could not restore it
Could not replenish the gift we had attained
Tears rolled down her cheeks
I felt a part of me die when she left
As the clock ticks on the wall
Every second feels like a day, and an hour a year
If only I had said I loved her, she'd still be here.

If only
It was splendid when we joined heartsWhen I thought love had steered our ship to destiny
