Awaiting Light.

Sitting by the window

In the shadows of the night

Plucking from the midnight air a sense of what is right

The stars shine down on dormant plants

That hang their weary heads

While I alone now roam the past

Still picking up the threads

The moon gives off its pale

And somewhat watery light

That casts the street in shadows

Clawing walls to gain some height

Dead leaves will spin in circles

Along the gutters clogging drains

While ants will march the pavement cracks

Like inner city trains

Its so silent as I sit here

In the darkness all aone

Then the raindrops start to pitter patter

Bouncing off the cobbled stones

There is a kind of peacefulness

That you only find at night

And so I slowly close my eyes

Awaiting dawn and with it light.

A gloriously reflective piece her my friend! I was there with you and I am sure a lot of writers will be too. yes I agree, sometimes the nights are the perfect place to be and awaiting the lightening of our souls is a good way forward into a new day.

Smiling at you,

Tai
