The Fires Of Hell.

The fires of Hell burn brightly

In this green and pleasant land

From drunken youths, to child abuse

They take their knives in hand

Yes the fires of hell burn brightly

And not to light our path

For the robbing thieves and murderers

Who shy not from our wrath

Alas the fires of hell burn brightly

For I fear we feed it well

On the lies of politicians

An the wars they cannot quell

Yes the fires of hell burn brightly

With its endless supply of hate

No longer a green and pleasant land

More a blind chaotic state.

"Civilisation" under scrutiny Graham. It leaves much to be desired , and as usual your poem flowed wonderfully.

Elle The PoetBay support member heart!
A sad write - a world that offers so much good but is used for so much wrong - we read of atrocities daily and wonder at the creation behind them.
