To E and T with love.
You read my poems
And I was scared,
Vulnerable,
As if you
Had taken my clothes
Away.
No longer anonymous,
You knew me so well,
You knew who I really was.
What if you laughed?
What if I cried?
What if you didn't understand?
What if you didn't like them?
What if you judged me
Through my poetry?
Through my insecurity?
But you felt me
Through the words,
And gave me love
And compassion.
True buddies,
With only love
To give.

Buddies
You read my poems
And I was scared,
Vulnerable,
As if you
Had taken my clothes
Away.
No longer anonymous,
You knew me so well,
You knew who I really was.
What if you laughed?
What if I cried?
What if you didn't understand?
What if you didn't like them?
What if you judged me

And gave me love
And compassion.
True buddies,
With only love
To give.
