When It Rains

I was thinking of you,
As I started to cry,
I looked to the heavens,
And asked god why.

He sent me an answer,
It was harsh yet plain,
I understood it all,
When it started to rain.

I look at your pictures,
For three long days,
Something tells me,
That patience will pay.

So as the rain falls,
I just sit and wait,
Trying to look into,
My future's fate.

Right now I hurt,
But if I just walk through,
Something tells me,
I'll end up with you.

Rob Graber
I like how this combines sadness and optimism--quite an accomplishment; it remind me of the great James Taylor oldie, "Fire and Rain": "I always thought that I'd see you again"...
