Just A Little Bit off The Pace by M.A.Meddings
Having watched the first mountain stage of 'Le tour de France' yesterday and seen what is arguably the toughest test of endurance and mind over matter in the world I wrote this. A young German buck called Louis Gerehard won it, and I remembered just how it was.
Just A Little Bit Off The Pace
By M.A.Meddings
I may be just behind you now
dropping back from the group
Finding it hard to keep my youth
Then, you wouldnt have lived with me
Just keep going young buck
And hey! I wish you luck
for 30 years on you could be me
And thirty back I could be thee
Pump you legs shake it free
How killing is the lactic acid
Five kilometres to go then you will be king
Of the mountain that is
Well thats your business conquering hero
Fly like the wind on the descent
Your youth and this were heavan sent
For the tour on this day at least
The joy in you
The smile on your face
Tells it all young buck
As for Me
I'm just a little bit off the pace
for the tour
