Assignation with an angel
With wilting rose in trembling hand I did of you embraceAnd all my world and all within stood still
To gaze at last this vision of such beauty framed in grace
My cup had runneth over in it's fill
A rhapsody regales my ears poetic in it's flow
Your voice a warm melodious lilting song
You held me near and quelled my fear in wish of I to know
That we this day do in this place belong
We walk we talk as friends of old beneath a clear blue sky
Two souls as one in love of natures dance
We cry with glee as we both see two angels flying by
As graceful swans in pursuit of romance
And o're the ripple of the lake through jasmine scented trees
We see a brook eternal in requiem
It's babble paying homage to a princess we all know
Diana who would never be our queen
You spoke to me of life and love and all that made me sad
You read my thoughts with tenderness and care
You made me feel though I be old I should of life be glad
And I in truth with you my soul did bare
And so I pen with honesty of all I think and feel
And am no longer fearful I may cry
And would you know dear Lucy that my love for you is real
And this love I shall cherish till I die.
Brendan.
