To my wife Jan who unknowingly gave me the title and then put the poem into my mind.

The Last Rose of Summer

This last rose of summer I offer to thee,
As a token of my affection that forever will be,
Like the last rose of summer so white and so pure,
Our love it will blossom it will flower and endure,
Though perfection the bloom' twill will be lost without trace,
If compared to the beautiful smile on your face,
So take this last rose and say you'll be mine,
Then in happiness forever our hearts will entwine.

The way you took your wife's words and made them the title of a beautiful poem - it's so gentle and loving!
