the Virgin rose by M.A.Meddings

The Virgin Rose

By M.A.Meddings

So stunning she was
The girl in the hat
Even at nineteen
A virgin rose
With a skin so pure and soft
That a reflected light
Up from the river
Diffused and made whole her beauty

And her hair?
Well you couldn't really see
Under the hat
But at a guess,
From the merest wisp
And the bright shine of her freckles
It was Titian,
A delicate colour

She was prettily dressed
But the cut of her gown
Of pure white silk
With a blaze of lace at the throat
Hung in long sinuous folds
From her breasts
So that any man might
Prefer, she was not dressed at all

Yet the hat?
The hat said it all
Wide brimmed straw of Midnight blue
With a soft Satin sash from the brim
As it trailed and hung to touch her back
It gave her,
A touch of class
And that was the killing of me

So serene she was
Just as a woman should be
And in her unwitting
seduction of my heart
Her radiant beauty gave a lift
To this drab world
And she enchanted me
And became, The virgin rose

The end

this is so pretty darling. It has a halo glow that shines all over the poem. The flow is the flow of milk white satin. It has a peace about it. Light and airy and beautiful. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxyblyvm

You are a softy aren't you? I applaud your courage in writing which such undisguised zeal about romance.

wicked stuff! To me it describes the fine balance between a free lustfull spirit teased with a femine guile.

Keep it romantic.
