Virgin Territory

I dream of her most every night and my dream always the same
Sweet Mary's face shall haunt me till I die
I dream the dream of love long lost ne'r to rise again
And wonder why this pain should time defy
I see her in a vision clear atop that mount in Bray
The sea breeze blowing gently through her hair
The eyes of youth in love's first flush teasing in their play
Embracing me as if a lovers dare
And I responded as an equal to her virgins kiss
Although we'd kissed so many times before
Falling into ecstasy , an erotic tangled bliss
And I to love was captive evermore
And though to me Eros did grant a hedonistic crown
One I would now wish to abdicate
That first encounter with that temple soft as eiderdown
Would never in my life ere duplicate.
Brendan.
