The Osprey

" My heart's gone!"
He said,
As the osprey,
Swooped away,
Juicy fish
As prey,
Clutched safely,
In talons grey.

Food for her
Chicks in haven,
Nesting atree-top,
Eagerly awaiting,
Mother's gorging
Gullet.

Almost extinct,
Our Queen
Protects.
No man
Allowed,
Within the
Nesting aura,
Their life,
Adored,
They thrive,
Assured,
The osprey
Will live
Forever.

Interesting, dynamic nature poem: It swoops and trails off too!
