Where the mighty Ohio river crosses the borderline into Kentucky in spiritual dreams I saw a girl and came to love her endlessly. A dream text but often dreams come true
Aspin Time by M.A.Meddings
All of our yesterdays
Are like drops of summer rain
Remembering how soft we were
How gentle was the pain
Of being in love and out again
As on Sunday after church
You in your flouncing aloofness
For me a boy
There was nothing worse
Than to see you walk away that day
With you nose in the air
As if I didnt matter then
Just like you never cared
That my tears had flowed in hidden shame
As my heart was broken too
And I went on with life aghast
Thoughts of you just wouldnt pass
For I could never forget you
Thus in shameless dignity
I tried to win you back again
but then
'Twas far to late to save the love
Sophisticate became you
You wanted another man
As I
In sublime loneliness
I waited for a time
Until the world had turned
And I could make you mine
I loved you then in Aspin time
Down by the banks
Of the Ohio
And I will love once again
Where that mighty river flows
