About a close friend of mine, he thought he was educationally unteachable in those days they did'nt understand dyslexia, and though now late in life he's learning he's still paying the price for it.

Instead of slow and nervous.

I nature had been kinder
And granted unto me
A stronger sense of confidence
Or a better memory

If these things, they had been granted
A better man i'd be
Instead of slow and nervous
I'm yearning to be free

They are like Leach's round my neck
My life's blood they will drain
They've taken every chance I've had
And left me only pain

If i had paid attention
When i was young at school
I'd have been an interlectual
Instead of just a fool

So listen well you truants
And heed your teacher well
For without an education
Life can be a living hell.

An excellent piece my friend both in poetic layout and social content, well done.
I am afraid I was one of those who never paid much attention to the teachers and in consequence got stuck in Stockbroking all my life.

if it wasnt for the teachers and education than it would be trail and error. key word error. U are so right the foundation of our lives is to learn and understand so we can expand.

Very well.
"Instead of slow and nervous
I'm yearning to be free" - exactly!!!

I have only one remark - I think, life can be a living hell and with education too... :)
