The Art of War or Hate or Love

magnetic eyes of whom i despise
often enrapture my sense of being.
do you suppose we are tied together?
spirits binding....a disguise.
you do not obey me but my mind
seems to capture you somehow
lost because of fear
or hate or lies.
a hero in his web he has weaved
will not surrender to me
but briefly.
a bluff in the art of war or hate or love.
maybe battles lost are won by someone
but neither you, nor i.

Rob Graber
Perplexing, in a most appealing manner... The end I find too clever to be depressing.
