With apologies to Ecclesiastes.
Christmas is Here Again
Christmas is here again,
Pouring love and presents
On everyone.
Putting a smile,
On our dour faces.
Giving food to the
Wanderers,
And love to the lonely,
The hopeless,
The homeless.
Frivolity to the
Family of man.
Unbearable excitement,
To every child,
Searching their homes
For hints of presents.
Carols sung by the eager.
I remember all my
Christmases.
A time of warmth in winter,
A time of forgiveness,
A time for the pleasure
Of coming together,
Always hoping
For peace.
A time to relax in the
Bosom of your kin,
Surrounded by love
And goodwill to all men.
