This is about a cancer patient of mine who had her leg amputated because of bone cancer. Before she went into the hospital her daughter laid down on the bed beside so she could sleep.

Lay Down Beside Me.

Lay down beside me while I fall asleep.
Angels are singing for my soul to keep.
I do not know if it is day or night,
but with you here beside me it will be alright.

As dreams overshadow me amid the pain.
Your song is like a lull of rain.
The time goes slowly but I want you to know.
Your love comes through like a balm that will flow.

Pain is ebbing away and I ask you to stay.
You cannot know how much I love you today.
So lay down beside me while I fall asleep.
Angels are singing for my soul to keep.

oh what a beautiful sweet scene of pure love although there is a sadness here, the beauty comes from the tenderness and care from a loving daughter to her ailing mother. It is heart touching and oh so moving emotionally. thanks for sharing this precious poem. kathy
