How can I love you
when you always avoid me?
How can I catch you
when you always fly away?
Your poverty is no excuse
for your looseness,
your work is no excuse
for your obsession to get away,
and you always get away,
but never from my love,
that follows you wherever
and keeps you company forever,
especially in your frozen loneliness,
when you imagine everything is hopeless,
while in those very moments
my love and I are close enough to you
to be seen by your mind's eye
stealing into your thoughts
and staying there
forever.

what resilient love you describe here... Interesting though, how you begin the poem with two questions that carry hints of defeat and disbelief. Those traces seem to vanish as the poem progresses, the narrator seems to become so certain of their love's pursuit as to use the word 'forever'...well written

Sounds like an exercise in futility, but nicely done. Happy trails.
