Avatars of rain

Hot rice and fish reminds me of drizzling

Memories remind me of leaf tangled curled drops

Studying history reminds me of torrential pattering

Red tiles remind me of the darkening colours of storm

Hyacinth reminds me of wet dogs rushing out of waters way

Coconuts remind me of sea tossed thunder, gorging and roaring

Death reminds me of puppies drowned in swollen, muddy gutters

Politics reminds me of growing pine jousting with the howling wind

A cigarette reminds me of a drenched man offering his only dry shirt

Exile reminds me that fall showers will arrive and texture loneliness.

Making love reminds me of gleaming city, slickened by a passing shower

Pizza reminds me of old friends and movies where people dance in cloudburst.

The rain reminds me of cleansing, clawing, clinging and just as easily taking away.

Wonderful metaphorical observations. I was drawn in right from the beginning. Really enjoyed this read, thanks.
