Red Umbrellas

Suddenly
I feel
Happy about nothing.
There’s a senselessly huge grin
On my face
And it reaches my eyes.
It’s that contagious sort of happiness
That can spread through a city
Like in a music video.
The ones where birds chirp
And flowers fall
From cherry blossom trees
On two unsung lovers
Who first kissed
Under a red umbrella.
