Wrote this after New Orleans was flooded out.
"Stop treating us
Like
Dogs!"
Said the
Refugee from
The storm.
"Why are they
Treating us like
Animals?"
She cried,
And cried.
No water,
No help,
No food,
No shelter.
But no one
Understood,
That this
Crisis,
Was the size
Of England.
Imagine Albion,
Submerged.
What then?
How can you
Save the dales,
Lift the crofters
From their cottages?
Watch as Cornwall
Is washed away?
Sheep and cows,
Slaughtered,
By an angry
Mother Nature.
The Barrier
Of London,
Burst.
This green and
Pleasant land,
Turned to sludge?
What then?
Would we be
So quick to judge?
If the survivors
From the flood,
Were us?
