Troubling Thoughts

My mind is wavering,
back and forth
like the swing
of the pendulum,
sweeping across
what was known,
the happening,
and the unknown.
Doesn't seem to know where to stop.

Being away from the home,
sweet home,
i feel the loneliness
surrounding me.
And staring into the dark,
i think of the loved ones,
when something in me asks
'why are you "here"'?
But trying to reason ,
doesn't help.

And the present,
unaware of itself,
is quickly getting shadowed
into the past.

The future too,
seems to be uncertain,
setting fresh fears in me,
every time i think of it.

Trying to avoid
being cornered by
these thoughts,
the mind is seeking
momentary blankness.

Elle The PoetBay support member heart!
This is really good, I was with you all the way in this - those thoughts that trouble us. Was reading recently that we should never be afraid of fear, accept it and go forward!
