River of Regret

An autumn sun
Makes rain clouds run

Stately swans glide by upon the river.

Loosely laconic
As another gin and tonic

Drowns out the protestations of my liver.

Cheers ?

Let that autumn sun and those stately swans be your tonic.
This is a very visual piece and still yet one of interspection. It drew me in and caused me to read it a second time and then ponder. I love the title and the poem.
