This was us

I knew from this moment that it would never change
All the regrets and promises you made
For whatever reason I follow them
Of course you knew that I would.
Well it wasn't the first time was it?
Being pushed beyond the edge
Just so you see how far I fall
Our existence of lies twisted through this empty hole
Never knowing, never letting go.
We take this life and paint it red
Wash away the marks we left.
While I take my life and paint it blue
Resembling my meaning, my everything, you.
A covered up forgotten soul
Always lost forever more.
Buried fruit with a rotten core
Forever lost forver more.
Now the world see's what we've done,
What we have become.
The wasted decay
Frail and grey.
For we are the ones that life has forgotten
The faded memories...
This was us.
