The situation in my country and the rest of the world, makes me think it's time for some real dialogue rather than rhetoric.
There can be no reminiscence
You've got to grab the bull by the horns
When it's time to bite the bullet
I'd rather say it than chew on it
For it just might go off right there in my mouth
So I lay aside the clichés and the jargon
They don't count for much
Not beg your pardon
You may not mean to annihilate the will I have to live
You may not mean to test my secular role
You think that things are still within control
Now there're more of us believing
That living is surviving
The mobs that breach the borders of our lives
And there're fewer of us knowing
That living is for being
Unmindful of the colours of my faith
That's why I lay aside the clichés and the jargon
They don't count for much
Not beg your pardon
You may not mean to annihilate the will I have to live
You may not mean to risk my secular role
But things today are way out of control
Maybe it's time for us to wake up
And take a good look at the line-up
Before we go out there and exercise our right
But when it's all about the money
Let me tell you it's not funny
It gives a whole new meaning to the word 'franchise'.
And so I lay aside the clichés and the jargon
They don't count for much
Not beg your pardon
You may not mean to annihilate the will I have to live
You may not mean to press my secular role
I wish someday that peace secures the polls
When time is of the essence
There can be no reminiscence
You've got to grab the bull by its cojones.
