For all returning soldiers.
The soldiers
Touched down,
Their Herculean task,
Fulfilled.
Still wearing
Their olive-branch-
-of-peace
Coloured
Khakis.
They stepped back
Into the English drizzle,
Back from the drought,
The dust of the desert,
Back from the
Afghan
Front.
Anointed
By soft rain,
Home again!
Home again!
Back in Blighty.
