Remebrance of a past life

FORBIDDEN LOVE

Our love was forbidden in this life;
I was a teacher of the mysteries
And one who rode in a chariot
Pulled by lions.

I saw your deep black eyes watching me
And at first, I felt nothing for you;
But you were always there
Just watching.

One day I passed you in the gardens
And you touched my hand;
The magnetic shock ran up my arm
And into my heart.

I became aware of you after that
And your presence began to unnerve me
Because I had the ability to read
What was in your mind.

Whenever I saw you, the lions would
Become agitated and restless
And I knew I had to be careful
Of my emotional state.

I was warned by my inner voice
When we became lovers
That I was treading on dangerous ground
But I heeded it not.

One day when I went to get the lions
I realized I had lost control;
Too late! They attacked me then,
And I died in your arms.
