A walk at the beach with a heavy heart.




The Fade


walk a line on mushroom bay
ankles swoon in lukewarm shallows
child bends to shells below
wounds kicked along the sand
two speak, I hear not one
not there now, heart dives to gray
throat gripped, breath almost gone
til sleep comes to quiet the fade
