I should move my room around
shift this desk
I'm done with this room position
I need a new perspective
but you know where gear is
you can find anything in a moment
and you're right by the window
not stuck behind the door
it's time for change
and I'm restless
I'm by myself so the new look will be all mine
besides
the window is a distraction during the day
and a concern at night
you've taken this room to so many houses
you know the best design
for each room shape
this is different
I've been here for a long time now
this place isn't a transition
if you can make a house a home
then call this the room equivalent
you're only making my point
you like this room how it is
you actually feel settled
it has bad feng shui
you just don't like the window
it makes you feel cold
it frightens you
that's right – the window is cold
it's a constant reminder of the gloomy night
on the other side of that curtain
moving your room won't
stop nights from being dark
or stop empty houses feeling empty
and anyway
it would just be a lot of hassle
I'd have to get an extension cord
for the computer
and no one's here to help me with the desk
you could always put a CD on
to fill the silence
or I could stay here by the window
and listen to myself think
