Apologies if you're in my class.

The Year 9's

I hate them.

They are so rude and proud of it.
Like ignorance is an armour they wear.

And I hate my class.

No, not hate...

More 'seriously dislike them'.

So much of education is about protecting self esteem.
Nothing wrong with this class' self esteem.
They've got self esteem.

And we protect self esteem and bolster false ego.
So I pander and coax and plan and display enthusiasm and make class fun.

And they are rude and proud of it.

I breathe anger.
I am angry at my class.

And still...

I will be in tomorrow. I'll try again then.

Your words reminded me so much of my youngest son - he would get so frustrated when classes turned into chaos and disruption

My son is a year 8... he's complaining all the time about the raucous ones that make learning difficult. You're a clever one, battle through hun, you'll get there! ;-)
