2:27 am

sleep
drowsy
want sleep now

coffee pumping through the veins
eyes
staring
all the shapes of a dark unconscious

breathe
long pulls of air
slow releasing warm breath
stop thinking

stop it

the event
so small
it happened so quickly
but let it go
go to sleep

heart pumping heavy blood
veins
tightening
all the claws of the reaching shadows

breathe
must sleep
stop thinking
let it go

just let it go

2.27 am is a time that I think a lot of writers find themselves staring at the clock...we night owls think we can survive on little sleep and we can, but not for long. I love the way you coax your brain into lettng go in this poem. Dump the coffee at night, it is not good for you! Bedtime is tea time in Tai's book. May you sleep well from here on in.

Smiling at you

Tai

I feel this... Sometimes it's hard to find the off switch eh? ;-)
