Oh my mama
Oh my mama, why did you have to go
My desolate heart and I are now as one
And in the silence of my night my tears do endless flow
What good the thorn now the rose has gone
I die each night to rise anew my heart as cold as ice
I weep the anguished tears of forlorn son
My world and all within has now flown to paradise
No more to share with me a setting sun
I am the captive slave of so many memories
Drowning in the sea of my own shame
Standing at the wretched gate of my sad destiny
My torch a dying ember doused with pain
Oh my mama shall I ever cease to cry
A torture such as this I've never known
Please forgive this son who never got to say goodbye
And hold you close before your soul had flown.
Brendan.
