the last thing I saw outside tonight

That Star

What is it about that star I just saw
The one that was winking at me
It caught my eye for sure
May have been calling my name

Flirting perhaps...
Hey gorgeous, look at me

It flashed a brilliant blue
And a red which went to purple
Then orange came into play
And I just stared... what could I say
Maybe it was telling me I am part
Of this whole universal being
Maybe it was saying goodnight
So I'll give thanks for the gift of seeing

A celestial body holding my daughter's name
Yes, perhaps that's what it is
Still I had to walk into the darkness
And say Thank You

Twinkle, twinkle little star...
Of course it was convincing you of something marvellous!
