I think some people are scared, though, especially if they have been hurt in the past - getting to know someone, should be a priviledge and as you say a growth :-)

So true. It seems that we're afraid to take off our masks, thinking that nobody will like what they see under there. Better to look at a real face than a mask, though. If we don't drop those barriers sometimes, we'll never have any genuine relationships. Or at least that's the way it seems to me. Insightful poem.
