The best laid plans, eh?

Bathtime Blues

Cold water first,
Just in case I fall in,
I love that burst,
That cascading din,
Let the floodgates open,
Let the bilges run,
O how I am hoping
For indulgent bathtime fun!

Hot water next,
A lazier seductive flow,
I disrobe on deck
Of my steaming pedalo,
I chance a toe, then a limb,
Legs, thighs, waist, chest,
Ah, bliss, I'm nearly all in,
Oops, must remove my vest!

Perfect water now,
Soothing somnolent surf,
Ideal for sailing my dhow,
And filling me with mirth,
I have a treat to cap it all,
Saffron salts from a casbah,
They come in a purple ball
With the name 'Zany Zanzibar'.

Cloudy blue water foams,
I sit back in cinnamon candlelight,
My imagination roams
In the beauty of bathnight,
The water chills as I dream,
I pull on the shower gel rope,
I was hoping to rise in a gleam,
But I can't find the soap!
