Author's Note: ....spawned from an overactive imagination with semi fictional roots

The Old Flame Never Dies

Gazing into our fizzured faces,
I map the crooked lines
that fill in all the wrinkled spaces
where laughter crinkled into aging signs.
But your luscious lips remain the same.
You still have that gleem in your eye.
And, despite all the many years we blame,
Your embracing stares still make me sigh.

Old flames , are never truly extinguished . The good burn bights with in the mind. A reminder of love shared , the bad it is also there a reminder of love gone bad. A flame we wish we could extinguished form the memory. The good old flames help us though the bad.
Well written and so well expresst , Melanie Sue.

This is epitome of properly aged affection.
What a gift, to be looked at and to perceive magic.
