SPLIT DAYS OF JUNE
Julytomorrow August
I made myself impossible
rolling shadows
in the midnight sun
Junishly reasonable
I lied
mostly to myself
wishing me all to much
pushing one day
behind that last
even the softest touch
I hope
on my knees now
like a fool that better not
my exuses
speak like a child
as the door goes shut
Will you hold me in September
in the last stroke of the sun
can I still make you remember
what I forgot to get away from
or is that September gone....
I look
I can only see that far
I have done nothing to repent
in the coming
as for your eyes
I don't care for any heaven sent
So call
I am still here you know
here is crumbling for my feet
even August
shuts me out
to think of now we never meet
Will you hold me in September
where the roses still unfold
can I still make you remember
what I forgot to get away from
make September talk....
