The Fantail is a small New Zealand native bird
The fantail darts here,
and there,
busily snatching insects,
out of the air.
Such a friendly little thing,
two ounces of fluff,
and feathers, on the wing.
In the cooler times,
they are only around,
otherwise in the cool of the bush,
will they be found.
