Reflections of a Past Life
You never heard me cry at night
When we slept back to back
Tangled sheets, two heart beats
Beating out of time
I never saw my eyes in yours
When you looked through me
Funny thing, a wedding ring
Doesn't make you mine
You never saw me on the cliff
When I decided to end it
Just drive off, but baby coughed
Then I changed my mind
I felt more lonely with you
Than I ever did alone
A tidy house, a frightened mouse
Watching life pass by
We never knew each other really
Although we thought we did
Bitter thoughts, divorce courts
Sanity I try to find
You always ask why we ended
But you will never understand
Silent sobbing, head throbbing,
We were not meant to be
I still wish you happiness
And our babies grew up strong
Different now, but funny how
I loved you all along
