My Sanctuary

The ocean is a sanctuary built by God's own hand.
I feel a strong connection to the surf and sand.
I come here when I'm happy, I come here when I'm sad.
To celebrate the good times, commiserate the bad.
I come here to remember, I come here to forget.
I came here because of her today, I'm just not sure why yet.

You see, this woman makes me happy
She puts a huge smile on my face.
I just have to think of her
I grin all over the place.
Though there are many challenges
That we must overcome.
I pray one day we'll find a way
That we two can become one.

The ocean is a sanctuary built by God's own hand.
I feel a strong connection to the surf and sand.
I come here when I'm happy, I come here when I'm sad.
To celebrate the good times, commiserate the bad.
I come here to remember, I come here to forget.
I came here because of her today, I'm just not sure why yet

I came here to walk along the beach,
Just to try and clear my mind.
She is the perfect woman for me
So gorgeous, sweet and kind.
Though miles and life are in the way
Somehow we'll work it out.
We can be a happy pair,
Of this I have no doubt..

The ocean is a sanctuary built by God's own hand
A part of my heart and soul lie in the surf and sand.
I come here when I'm happy, I come here when I'm sad.
To celebrate the good times, commiserate the bad.
I come here to remember, I come here to forget.
I came today because of her, I'm just not sure why yet.

Nice song :)

"I come here to remember, I come here to forget" ... that's the sea for me .. too.

Although I am not a believer of deities of any kind I find this poem very beautiful. Mostly because I too love the sea and because of the sweet loving note in your poem. Also a big plys for the nice flow of your rhymes.
