Poem a Day No. 11
Could never writeAnything worthy of
Stealing the love
Of my best friend's
Life while he was in rehab.
They had broken up
Previously, he knew there
Was feelings for her
There was an openness,
Seemed okay with it,
But ultimatly was naive,
Went crazy and we
Haven't seen him in
Over a year...disappeared
Completetly, noone has
Heard a word...now she
Is the love of my life
And we are never far
Apart, but we both wish
We had him in our lives,
Have gained and have
Lost, hope to see him
Before he is heard to die,
Wouldn't begrudge
Her kiss with him
So that she wouldn't
Have to live with this
As I do, this is all
Built on regret and loss,
We, both, will never
Match up to what he
Was to both of us.
