Hear Me Right
I said I was sorry and wasTold to say it like I meant it,
So, I said it as I had initially
Intended, and everybody laughed
And some just smiled and no one
Did believe a single word I had said.
I don't have
Weight to gain
Or looks to lose
Or people to blame
Or money to blow,
I'm not a war hero,
I'm just an amputee.
I said that I loved her and was
Told to say it with some feeling
To make it sound like I really
Meant it in the first place, so,
I said it again with pep and zeal
And she didn't seem to take it all that well.
I don't have
Blood to bleed
Or shit to smell
Or places to be
Or stories to tell,
I'm not an amputee,
I'm just a war hero.
