(slightly revised)
Rumbling
tepid clouds
rumbling red
hugged the horizon
before us
as we watched
the winds wane
and the day dim dead
I stared at the moon
in your eyes
preening on purple
star speckled space
knowing I'd regret
tepid rumbling red
lips scorching face
