The Holiday Fairies
The ice fairies pirouette from the skies
Gracefully they twirl with their dresses fluffy and white
As their perfectly rehearsed performance leads on into the night
Their silent laughter turns childrens noses cherry red.
As the children play and clap for the never ending night show,
The Christmas tree fairies work their magic inside.
The warm, delicate fire prances with joy,
As the tree fairies sprinkle their fairy dust over their magnificent creation.
Hanging their porcelain decorations in perfect order,
They welcome everyone to adore their work.
Lastly, the Queen of the tree fairies smiles, lighting up the rainbow of lights,
Which hang in spirals around the tree.
They all clap and cheer as the final decoration is hung.
At the top of the tree, the star stands tall and proud,
Reminding everyone of Christmas joy and love.
As the happy children head off to bed at the stroke of twelve,
The sugar plum fairies play their sugar lullaby,
Sending delicious dreams to the tiny tots sound asleep.
The ice fairies wrap up for the night;
They too fall asleep in the cool blanket of glittery snow
The Christmas tree fairies, and their queen
Lay down the branches of the spruce,
Yawning with the happiness that comes this time of year.
