A Wall

I fear I've somehow built a wall
between myself and those I love.
I do not like the thought at all--
I'm not sure I can reach above

Between myself and those I love
a gap has widened, metres high
I'm not sure I can reach above.
Can someone hear my silent cry?

A gap has widened, metres high
while I've existed, unaware.
Can someone hear my silent cry?
Have I blocked out all those who care?

While I've existed, unaware,
(I do not like the thought at all)
Have I blocked out all those who care?
I fear I've somehow built a wall.

Clearly I need to get on poetbay more often because I miss people writing and my two favorite Barksdales getting Editor's Choice Awards. I really like this one. I hope that the wall is not because of the many states between us. We should talk more. I have been really crazy busy but now that I am settling in I hope to have more time. Hope you are enjoying school!

A most excellent and superb Pantoum here. You have such a deft hand for one so young. I did, indeed love this!!!

dang....
what is it with us and walls?
I'm sorry you feel like that with whoever all you're talking about...it's an unpleasant thing
