Naïve
"Language Arts" they called it.And we played with it, taking
our language and throwing it
back and forth
molding and painting and creating.
But we were waiting,
longing to be grown up, to
take classes with big-kid names like "English"
Heedless of the ominous lack
of that small word
that one word that created humanity;
"English" does not involve itself with art.
