I saw her nest by frozen bay.

I saw her nest by frozen bay
Upon an oak which laid below
One canopy of winter gray
And countless coins of opal snow.

The coiled twigs were tightly spun
And crowned the branch with ginger rings
A lofty home of turtle doves
Left un-obscured by jade of spring

Though dulling sun had sent away
The bird that sewed it's April nest
December, in it's dead array-
Amplified what life was left.

"countless coins of opal snow"

My favorite line from a tightly worded poem ... almost a sonnet ... glad I stopped to read.
