I'm On My Way to You

Heading down that old coastal highway.
Nothin' but sand and surf for miles.
Jumped in the car to get away,
I'm in need of a few smiles.
Life has gotten complicated.
Confusion seems to reign supreme.
I know that I am obligated,
But I need to live my dream.

It's the same old dilema, follow my head or my heart?
Stick with everything I'm sure of? Or do I make a brand new start?
I don't care what others think about me. To myself I must be true.
So I'm leaving all I know behind, and I'm on my way to you.

The ocean has a strange hold on me.
I'm so at peace when I am here.
I find it much easier to see,
It helps my thoughts be more clear.
I come searching for some answers.
To questions burning on my mind.
They eat at me like a cancer
Until they are better defined.

It's the same old dilema, follow my head or my heart?
Stick with everything I'm sure of? Or do I make a brand new start?
I don't care what others think about me. To myself I must be true.
So I'm leaving all I know behind, and I'm on my way to you.

The goal in life should be to be happy.
Fame and fortunes be damned.
I only know when I'm with you
I'm a very happy man.

It's the same old dilema, follow my head or my heart?
Stick with everything I'm sure of? Or do I make a brand new start?
I don't care what others think about me. To myself I must be true.
So I'm leaving all I know behind, and I'm on my way to you.
Yes, I'm leaving all I have behind and I'm heading there to you!
