Someone I met while travelling in the US, September 09

Susan

in the core of pressing ebony is found
the cool ivory tones of your love
there it rests with a brush of my cheek
here it's felt within a deep part of me
my eyes are tired and you smile
my voice is weak and you shine
I have nothing to give you now
and there is nothing you want
for you see me
you see behind that veil of broken life
no clouds in your vision
to guide you
into
the centre of me

Not exactly a "ship in the night" moment but it was a beautiful encounter all the same. : )

Sounds like a beautiful encounter and it is a beautiful poem, I felt I had to read it as I have the same name. One of those "ships that pass in the night moments?"
