Your smell

I slept there tonight
where we used to sleep
Together

I could still feel you
as if the heat of your body
never left the fabric of the sheets

I could still smell you
That special scent
brought back now painful memories

I could also smell the sweat
that is yours and mine
memories of hot nights

You were all over the place
Your cologne stuck to the walls
Filling my lungs, making me hollow

Then I opened the window
and you were gone
slipping away in the wind

Never to return

Oh, I love that feeling.

When it's gotten to the point that you can walk into a room and instantly pick out his scent; light cologne and sweat and cinnamon and hot peppers and warm tortillas. Even if it's been an hour or more since he was last there.

It hurts, so... beautifully.

And you've captured it perfectly here.
